The program included the peaceful rally followed by the Nukkad Natak (Street Play). The rally began after chief guest Mr. Santosh Singh showed the green flag to the students of SSGI.

Students were marching in a procession holding boards focusing on quotations like

“Stop female feticide”

“A Girl child makes the world bright but struggles to see the light”

In a bid to encourage birth and education of girls and tackle the abysmally low child sex ratio of 918 girls for 1000 boys, Prime Minister, ShriNarendraModi launched “Betibachao, betipadhao” (BBBP) Yojana. Coming out in full support of prime minister’s initiative, Students of Sri Sharda Group of Institutions contributed to this splendid campaign by conducting engagement sessions and NukkadNatak programs on 15th November 2016 across various locations in Lucknow viz. Gosainganj & Arjunganj.

Female infanticide is the deliberate killing of newborn female children. In countries with a history of female infanticide, the modern practice of sex-selective abortion is often discussed as a closely related issue. Female infanticide is a major cause of concern in India. It has been argued that the “low status” in which women are viewed in patriarchal societies creates a bias against females

The programs were designed to bring focus to the core concerns like female feticide and female infanticide. Students including girls and boys from PGDM, BBA and B.Com participated in NukkadNatak tried to encourage varied classes of society by putting across the message of saving, nurturing and educating the girl child.

Adding to the points Mr.Nirmesh Singh,Vice Chirman, Sri Sharda Group of Institutions ,laid emphasis that at Sri Sharda Group of Institutions  students are always trained on the benefits of self discipline, the importance of human values, moral values and integrity in ones life by conducting such types of activities. While interaction with the students Prof. Vivek Mishra, Dean, SSIMT quoted that the primary objective of this event was to foster, promote and create awareness among general mass about promoting the girl child education for a strong nation. The complete program was successful in providing a platform to students for the overall development of the students by exposing them to various burning problems of the society apart from mainstream academia.

Sri Sharda Group of Institutions has been always in front foot for ethical framework and recommends that an entity, be it an organization or individual, has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large. It is a duty which every individual has to perform so as to maintain a balance between the Healthy society and strong nation.

This is an initiative to respond to the cries for justice of children who have suffered violence in any form. We have to do much more to end these horrible abuses and the impunity that allows these human rights violations to continue.
